McKOY

01 — About the artist
Hello, I’m Kim McKoy.
I turn fleeting moments — light on water, a grandmother’s kitchen, a train window — into layered, tactile images you can feel.
Biography
Artist, observer, collector of quiet moments.
Kim McKoy is a contemporary visual artist whose practice spans large-scale abstract painting, analog & digital photography, and mixed-media collage. Her work has been shown in 84 group and solo exhibitions, collected privately across the US, UK and EU, and featured in independent art press.
Born into a family of makers, Kim learned to see through her father’s darkroom and her mother’s quilts. That duality — light and textile, precision and softness — still drives every canvas: thin photographic washes under thick impasto, stitched paper, found pigments, salt, ash and sea water.
Since 2009 she runs an independent studio under kimmckoy.com — no gallery gatekeeping, just direct connection: studio diaries, open commissions, affordable prints and originals shipped worldwide.
